In the Congregation, we are 609 sisters from 22 countries and of 26 nationalities. We have variety, diversity and richness of cultures, and a lot of dedicated and missionary life. Today, Our General Coordinator Sr. Raquel Gil motivated us to be more agile to our missionary sending to a different country rather than remain in our country of origin.
The last few General Chapters have encouraged and motivated more missionary dynamism but for different reasons it has slowed down: languages, visas, approval of titles, lack of personnel, advanced ages, etc.
The General Council then presented a format, to be filled in by the Provinces so that they could have a first hand information of all our mission projects. This information could help, to motivate both sisters and lay people to the missionary sending. Let us renew our first missionary love with openness, willingness and risk, crossing borders and breaking down barriers.
It was an emotional experience to listen to our sisters, Kalisiya (from India) and Natalia (from the Philippines) who are collaborating in the Internal congregational project at Barañain (Spain) in the two communities of elderly and sick sisters. We appreciate their dedicated service and they inspired us with their enthusiasm and joy.
The General Council presented the Proposal of Guidelines for Volunteers of MDR. Finally, Sr. Trini, our General Secretary, requested two sisters to join the Communication Team as two sisters were discontinuing their services from the General Communication Team. We appreciate the work of the outgoing sisters and encourage the incoming ones.
